Hey there! My name is Brian Kalakay, but my friends call me “Mr. Energy”.
<=That’s me on the left. I know I look a lot taller in the picture, but don’t let it fool you…I’m only 5 foot 2 inches tall
I want to personally thank you for swinging by my blog.
Recently, there has been a growing group of followers starting to read this blog, so I figured I would give some information about who I am, what I do, and how this all came to be.
I am a Fitness Games Expert
No, I’m not talking about video games, although I do enjoy the occasional Mortal Kombat match on the PS3. I specialize in creating fitness games and entertaining training methods for Martial Artists and Fitness Professionals. These games can be used to spice up your current training format and increase your business in the process.
Who I am
The truth is that I am not an “All knowing Fitness Guru” that everyone else on the internet claims to be. To be honest, I have only been in the fitness industry for two years. Although I know my fair share of fitness knowledge, it’s probably no more than the amount you know. You actually probably know more…My expertise is “entertraining” people, which is a big made up word that means that I am a trainer who entertains. Part of this training “style” I practice comes from what I did before fitness.
I come from a Martial Arts background. I instructed Martial arts for almost 7 years and competed nationally and statewide for about 4 years. I am a three-time I.T.F world champion, three-time Michigan Sport Karate Circuit State Champion, and a five-time Arnold Classic gold medalist. I instructed people from 8 years old to 65 years old, and if there is one thing you learn from working with such broad demographics of people, it’s that everyone wants to feel good and be entertained while they train.
That is one of the main reasons why I decided to start this blog. I want to share my passion for not only “outside of the box” training ideas like Fitness Games, but also inspire you to create experiences for your clients, not just crazy workouts.
Don’t let that “epiphany moment” fool you. There was a time, before my fitness games idea, that I was struggling big time. I was working in a big box local gym. Every day I had to show up 30 minutes early to move spin bikes off of my 12 foot by 12 foot foam floor just so I could start my classes. Every decision I tried to make was always overruled by the gym owner, who didn’t have a clue about how to run a successful fitness business. This was no place for successful fitness professionals. That’s why about 8 months later, I decided to take the leap of faith and start my own transformation facility. Now we are 5 months into it and we are about 127 members strong. Enough of my boring story…
What will I write about on this Blog?
My passion is to find new methods to break up training boredom and develop new ways to entertain your clients, so the main focus of this blog will definitely be fitness games of some sort. However, you will also find “outside of the box” training formats, business strategies, marketing tactics and more. Anything that can help give you the creative edge that others around you wish they could get their hands on, will be in this blog. So make sure to subscribe and check back often for new posts, videos, and done-for-you systems that will put the “entertainment” back into your training.
Well, I’m off to the gym for another day of entertainment. Feel free to CONTACT ME if you have any questions or would like to see certain topics addressed on the blog. Also, don’t forget to check out my facility’s website if you want to see how I run things online and check out the studio pics. ==> http://xrhealth.com/
